My Dine Out 2018 Recommendations!

The time has finally come…..Dine Out!!! If you’ve never heard of this event, pretty much every major restaurant in Vancouver comes out with discounted set menus for a time frame of 2 weeks. There are either $20, $30, $40 menus depending on the restaurant, and I’ll be letting you guys know which ones seem to be the most worth it! There’s around 400 restaurants so I thought this short list would be helpful. I’ll also be letting you guys know which 4 restaurants I’ve made reservations for. It’s the perfect chance for us hungry + broke students to try out some fancy food or just have an awesome discounted meal!

$20 Meals

Burnaby Mountain Clubhouse
Out of all the menus I’ve seen this one seems to be the one that’s just an absolute steal! You get a choice of AAA Angus Striploin Steak, Seared Sea Scallop + Prawn Risotto, or Portobello + Cremini Mushroom Gnocchi. All 3 dishes could easily cost $20 but in this case you also get an appy + dessert!

Juke Fried Chicken
This is one of the places I’m planning on visiting, but they don’t take reservations. Not the biggest discount here, but the menu options look amazing and your definitely still saving some money! They have buttermilk biscuits as one of their appys and a dark chocolate + peanut butter tart for dessert!

Kaya Malay Bistro
I’ve already made a reservation for this place, and I have seen multiple reviews saying you will definitely get your money’s worth! They’re serving both lunch and dinner for $20. Also, they have a ton of menu choices, but the one that seems to be the most interesting is their Pandan Cheese Panna Cotta. Not sure if I have the guts to try it tho!

The Trump Champagne Lounge
I know, it’s Trump…..but I thought I’d give the place a chance and have made a reservation, mainly because they’re serving dinner for $30 and this classifies as a higher end place. They are also serving the exact same menu at lunch also for the same price. With options like grilled octopus, lamb shank, and lingcod I definitely think you’ll get your moneys worth, in the case that nothing goes wrong.

The Oakwood Canadian Bistro
Another place I’ve booked my spot for! This place has been on my to visit list for awhile and I finally decided to go after seeing their Dine Out menu. For appys they have choices like squid panzanella and buttermilk fried chicken, and for mains pork hock carbonara and flank steak. Sounds delicious and definitely worth much more than $30!

Diva At The Met
Once again another place I’ve made my reservation for and have been meaning to visit for a long time. Definitely good value as this is a high end restaurant and there would be no way you could get 3 courses for dinner at $40 on a regular night. For appys they have a crispy pork belly, which sounds amazing and even better a caramelized stilton cheese cake for dessert!
