When the weather starts getting cold who doesn’t want a bit of warmth in their tummy? And without a doubt, Korean cuisine which will give you that warmth! So for our first event, Yummy in My Tummy had a little Halloween get together at The Kitchen near UBC. The Kitchen is Korean restaurant that is small in size very big in flavor! We met up in front of the restaurant and had to wait around 20 minutes to get in because place is packed and it doesn’t take reservations. However, the wait was definitely worth it!
The menu was very well organized by categories like soups, hot pots, rice, etc. And because we just met up for a quick lunch everyone ordered what they wanted to try. Here are a few things we ordered:
I had the soondubu jjigae (spicy soft tofu soup) and it was heavenly! It gives the same effect as eating warm chicken noodle soup on a chilly winter day but the soondubu jjigae has a spicier taste. I’m personally very fond of this restaurant because the food at the Kitchen is not as salty as dishes from other Korean restaurants can be, so it leaves me feeling better about myself and my health. But Korean food is generally quite healthy for you!

Also, because this was our first meeting, the delicious food was the main ice breaker! We all had the lovely opportunity to get to know each other better while enjoying a hearty meal. Hopefully after this first event, the members’ tummies are open to a whole new world of delicious Korean cuisine!
